Jugglers Against Gravity

mIRC
and #juggling

note: this info was written circa 1997, I have no idea what the current state of mIRC is. The IJDb has a chat room now, which seems fairly popular.

What is mIRC?

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat.
mIRC is a shareware program which allows you to enter the world of IRC.
For more info, and to download the program, go to:
http://www.mirc.co.uk

What is Undernet?

Undernet is a network of servers which manage the group of chat channels which belong to... Undernet. Got it?
Well, there are lots of other "nets" out there on IRC. WebNet, IRCNet, EFNet, etc... But if you want to find #juggling, you need to use Undernet.

What is #juggling?

#juggling is the channel on Undernet where jugglers gather to discuss, well, juggling, but also just chat and have fun.

Who is JuggleBot?

JuggleBot is a "bot" or robot-program which remains in the channel, keeping it open and making sure that everyone behaves. He will also store messages for you, and perform other functions. When you see him, type "/msg jugglebot hello", and he will tell you what to do. Jugglebot is maintained by Tobbe.

I tried several times to join this channel and it was empty. Does any one out here chat on this channel? Could you perhaps tell me when (and in which time zone too, please)? I'd love to hook in, but talking to myself gets a little tiresome after a couple of days.

This is the big problem with IRC. I haven't been able to spend much time online lately, so I can't help with this. Just keep trying!
Also, there is a new kid in town - ICQ. It's a little bit easier to use, plus it's easier to find people who are online. Click on the link and check it out.

Here are links to some of the regulars in #juggling:
